Dissociate
We separate from what ails us: reality. The real world has many problems. History has a slew of lessons and it seems no one is learning. When we have no idea how to fix the issues, we retreat to what takes our mind off of them. Anything to get away from the rot.
Distress
Anxiety and depression are natural reactions when living within a broken system and a society complacent with them. It's easy to fall in distress when we feel hopeless. Chemical imbalance or not, people will not get better by treating the symptoms alone.
Depress
Sometimes we bring others down. Making others suffer as much as they themselves feel. Sometimes people utterly break someone else's spirit in order to feel in control. Perhaps there are other reasons. Such tactics could be put to better use.

Do something. Do nothing. Do anything that makes use of our minds, bodies, or energy. There are a few core ways we choose to do these things without causing harm to others, such as...
Rest
We just need a break from everything. Just a rest for the mind. Take a nap. Breathe in and out. It seems simple, but it's hard to find time to do such a thing. Taking a rest from worrying about everyone else is important. It's okay to get some.
Game
We play for lots of reasons. As young children it brings joy. When we are old enough to understand the rules, we become gamers. Video gamers, board gamers, dice gamers, card gamers... We spend our energy productively.
Create
Whether making music, characters, stories, memories, moments that make us smile... at our core we are all creators. We were meant to produce love and create Earths culture. This is much deeper than just making we can ever conceive.

Connect to power sources that give you the energy you wish to persist. This can be people, nature, music, anything that maintains your integrity in a peaceful way. Aim to...
Exist
There is only one you. Some may be similar externally, but different internally. Others may be similar internally, but different externally. At the core of it all, each of us stem from the same place. You are uniquely you. Find what makes you, you.
Resist
Find ways to resist destruction. Life is about the long game. The strategy to winning is for our species to endure and persist through the forces that would destroy our humanity, our spirits, our planet, and our Motherland. Resist them.
Commit
Pick a value. Build morale. Define your ethics. Commit to one person, one task, one cause, or one purpose and put your energy in that one thing at least. We can not do it all on our own. We have to make efforts to bring forth the future we want our history to be.

May We Connect is An Idea not directly affiliated with any one person. The purpose of this project is to create a network of people and small businesses to spread awareness of a message that we want to unite on common ground. It is a social movement idea that came about while working on a passion project (Maekonect™) to connect people through truthful conversations. Why Maekonect?
Aria Maeko is a fictional character. She is of the Final Fantasy FFXIV universe. Maekonect is this part her last name, 'Maeko,' with the word 'connect'. Such is the origin of the name. Her existence stems from a series of other creative spaces such as Xianglei Bi of Guild Wars 2, Naku Futomi of Anime High School RP forums, and Tifa Blight from the mind of an impressionable youth stoked by the existence of video games and anime. Thanks to the creations that came before her, she was able to exist.

The whole idea for Aria was that she acted as a logistics advisor and worked on connecting people. She would make sure routes were safe for merchants to travel and guard shipments. She knew lots of people that way (other player characters), so if she knew someone needed help, or a connection, she would set them up. At least, that was the intention. So often while RPing character profiles were seen and connection made in my head. Aria was meant to help facilitate it, but never really did happen that way in game. Instead, the idea is being used in real life.

It is my hope that other roleplayers and gamers use Maekonect as a word to symbolize the desire to meet on common ground with others. May people use the name as a symbol of true unity. May it be a sign that you are welcome as you are and others are welcome as they are. May there be signs sharing that all are welcome as long as they are welcoming themselves. Maekonect does not have to be the only name where common ground is established. It's just a way a near-40 gaming woman choses to dig her feet in the ground and shout out to the masses that "I am here and there are others like me." This is an attempt to prove people are more alike than we think, and more people want to unite over what we have in common than destroy others over our differences.~May We Connect as caregivers for ourselves & others.
